"We're pleased that contract negotiations have been resolved amicably," said Scott Sterner, general manager of Republic Services. "We believe that our people make everything possible, and we take pride in making Republic a great place to work."

Republic respects the rights of employees to engage in collective bargaining. Employees at Republic's Atlanta South location who participated in the Teamsters-led, one-day work stoppage earlier this month were welcomed back to work the following day without consequences.

"We're working hard to be Atlanta's preferred recycling and waste services partner," Sterner said. "On behalf of everyone on our team, I want to thank our customers for their patience and understanding during the negotiations process. We're pleased to put to rest any uncertainty about service or our operations."

Republic works diligently to maintain a culture that values teamwork, trust and integrity, as well as the highest ethical standards. For the second consecutive year, Republic was named to the elite World's Most Ethical Companies® List by the Ethisphere Institute. Republic is the only recycling and solid waste services provider to be listed in 2018 under the Environmental Services category.
